In all chapters of Gita, we find a word,Yoga,invariably and emphatically.
What is meant by Yoga? Connecting this Simple soul to that Supreme Soul, is Yoga.
Then, what is the name of that Supreme Soul? Gita calls that Supreme soul as ParaBrahman or Paramatma and also describes that ParaBrahman as formless (nirAkAra).But, never refers to the Supreme power by any Avatar Purusha's name,for example, Rama, Narasimha, VAmana so on so forth.
Gita is an Upadesam given to Arjuna, to drive away his despondency. We all know.
Arjuna is one among the Pandavas, who lived in Krita Yuga. Before Krita Yuga, there were few more Yugas, and few more Avtaras too.They are, Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, VAmana, Narasimha, And Rama Avataras. Non of them are mentioned or praised in any chapter. Every Yuga has a Yuga Purusha.( Avatar ). No AvatAr is mentioned. But,
Ikshvaku, Vaivasvatha Manu's names are taken.
Vedas are not described or praised in detail, but in many chapters it is said that, what Gita preaches is better quintessence of Vedas.
Vedeshu Yagneshu thapassu cheiva daneshu yath punyaphalam prathishtam
Athyethi that sarvamidam vidithwa yogi Param Sthanamupeithi chadyam
Aksharabrahma yoga...
Yogi, who knows about that Akshara brahma and Adhyatma will beget all good results declared by Vedas ,Yagnas ,Penances, and Sacrifices.
Vedas praise the Paramatma by the name Narayana. But, nowhere in Gita, we find the mentioning of Narayana, who is Praised as Paramatma and Parabrahma, in Vedas.
Because, Gita is a SamvAd (dialogue) between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, lots of doubts about human existance, human birth, human Dharma, and creation of this Universe,definition of Atma,and Paramatma,and how different ways are connecting to the Paramatma , etc etc are all cleared in different chapters. Lord Sri Krishna is swayam Vishnu rupam (incarnation of Lord Vishnu).
In Moksha Sanyasa yoga, in last Sloka,Sri Krishna is praised as "Yogeswaraha" (lordof yoga ),; many other names of Sri Krishna are also referred to, like... Madusudana, Vasudeva, Hari, Kesava, Madhava, Achyuta, Janardana, Hrishikesa, etc. But, in a very negligible number of times, the name Vishnu is spelled in this lengthy Upanishad of Eighteen Chapters. In 24th sloka, of" Visvarupa samdarsana yoga", one time, Arjuna addresses the Lord as "Vishnu".
Bhagavad Gita speaks mainly about the different ways of Yoga, to realise the Supreme Being. That Supreme being is called Bhagavan. In every chapter , we read the dialogues between Arjuna and Bhagavan. All discussions and Conversations of Bhagavan and Arjuna referred to as Bhagavanuvacha, Arjunuvacha; these two addressings run the entire sacred Upanishad Gita. Not only this, in Sraddhatraya vibhaga yoga, Bhagavan is designated as" om tat sath. That means " Om " is the name of that e Eternal Truth. If anybody wants to call bhagvan by any specific name, that is his own choice, that's all.
No defined name, no fixed form, no fixed place, etc are the characteristics of That Supreme power. Wherever is excellence there is My Presence, says Bhagavan, in Vibhuthiyoga. Excellence in any faculty, such as Beauty, Intellect, Power, Brillience, Knowledge etc etc, should be considered as God's presence.
Among four Vedas, three are mentioned. But, Adharvana Veda is not quoted. In Rajavidya Rajaguhya yoga, 27th sloka speaks...
Pitahamasya jagatho mata dhata pitamahah
Vedyam pavithram omkaram ruck sama yajurevacha.

In the end of second line, Rukvedam, Sama Vedyam, Yajurvedam are only quoted. Why Adharvana Vedyam is not mentioned is not known. Similarly, Om, which is designated as Narayana himself in Vedas, is not considered as it is, but defined as Brahma everywhere in Gita.This mono syllable Om, sanctifier of any word, to which ever it is attached infront is simply mentioned as a designation of Brahma,but not of Narayana. Wether all these notes deliberately ignored or by chance ignored,in Gita ,we don't know. But, they are all thought provoking features.
