Satva, Rajas, Thamas are the thriguNas. Each guN provokes different traits in us. These traits prompt different thoughts, which ultimately direct us towards actions.
So, our mind is guided by these Satva, Rajas, thamO guNas .
All living beings are puppets in the hands of thriguNas.
Only Almighty is absolutely bereft of ThriguNas. God is "GuNatheethha." NirGuNaha."
The Supreme Mind is neutral in nature. This is called ParamBhavam. Absence of Duel Nature
Is named Param Bhavam.
How this Bhava generator, Mind is dectated by ThriguNas ??
How Mind behaves like a slave to these three guNas??
How these three guNas bind the Soul to the body??
Satva binds the embodied self by stainlessness and purity. Satvic people enjoy cheerfulness
producedd by knowledge, they enjoy the serenity of flawless thoughts. As Satva prevails, glow
envelops the body, which, people around u feel. When through all the sence-openings in this body, the light of knowledge radiates, then one should know that Satva is predominating.
RajoguNa binds the embodied self by attachment, Rajas is the source of desire, action and attachment. Ego centred behaviour, with aggression, and overpowering attitude is the sign of
RajoguNa. Greed, restlessness, never ending activity, passion for desires prevail, when Rajas
predominates.
ThamoguNa binds the embodied self by inactivity, inadvertence and delusion. Ignorance in every aspect of life is the result of ThamasaguNa. Mindless behaviour, dullness, and delusion
prevails when ThamasaguNa predominates.
From Satva results knowledge, from Rajas results greed, from ThAmas nothing but ignorance.
Transcending guNas is very very difficult , because our behaviour is bound to our guNas.
Always, one should guard himself from Rajas and Thamas, because these two only destroy the
virtues in anyone. When rajasica, thamasica guNas are subdued to Satva guNa, virtues excel in him and one enjoys the Bliss of peace. Equanimity establishes and one feels fit for the state of Brahman.
The impact of GuNas at the time of Departure desides,to where our soul reaches.
Those who abide in Satva go to higher spheres, the Rajasika reaches only middle spheres, but the Thamasika, abiding lowest qualities reaches the lowest spheres and resorts to animal womb. But, one who knows 'That'which is beyond ThriguNas, attains Brahman.
Hence, those wishing the Ultimate abode, should adhere to Sathva guNa, while dedicating himself totally to Almighty. Almighty will take care of everything.
How come we know weather a person transcended these three GuNas or not??
What are the characteristics of a person, transcended the thriguNas??
A mental calmness, composure, evenness towards pleasure and pain, same temper in honour and dishonour, same towards friend and foe, same towards likes and dislikes, same towards blame
and praise, same feel towards gold and stone, self control , renouncing the results of actions are the characteristics of a person who transcended the thriguNas.
Is this state of mind possible to achieve? Lord Sri Krishna Paramatma answers this question.
"He who serves Me alone through unswerving devotion can definitely transcend the thriguNas, as I bless him with Special intellectual power."
" Dadami buddhi yOgam thum Mamupayanthithe "
By birth we all carry these thriguNas, starting from the womb of mother, binding our self to this
body. Maya, which is constituted by these thriguNas covers us, guides our actions, defines our
nature. But,only and the only unswerving devotion towards God can rescue us from this Devine delusion(maya) prepares for Self realisation.
When Satva concurred Rajas, and thamas, the veil Mohamaya lifted, entire Universe appears differently,; every thing in this universe looks united....says Gita.
Thribhir guNamayeir bhavairebhihi sarwamidam Jagath
Mohitham nabhijAnAthi mamE bhyaha paramavyayam
The mystic Moha maya comprised of magical thriguNas is running the entire world show.
Gita, the Brahma vidya, the eternal universal religion, thus ,preaches us in GuNathrayavibhaga yoga, how to overcome the thriguNas and how to experience the Supreme bliss. " Be always with me, always think me ,always mind me, u will transcend the guNas." Lord Krishna.
