{karma & Karmaphal }Sanchita karma.

All our actions are dectated by our Buddhi, and Buddhi is guided by the results of our actions done in Previous Births. The accumulated stack of results,of all actions done in the Previous births,is named in a single word called "Sanchita karma". So,every action has it's', own fruit. These fruits of actions are called "Pap, PuNya",according to the nature of the action. Virtuous actions result PuNyam, whereas non virtuous actions result Papam.
Sanchita karma is costituted of both Papam,PuNyams. Hence, everybody has to think ten times before doing any action. Actions does not mean absolutely physical.  Verbal, thoughtful, physical actions all have there own degree of results accumulated in the form of Papam, PuNyam. Who accounts them??.Your own self is the Accontent of ur
Sanchitakarma. Who rewards the actions. The Supreme self, an all pervading witness.
Life is full of actions, no action,no life. When one dies, leaves the body, what he takes along with him is,  Sanchita karma , his Nature of conduct ( swabhava )and his Knowledge. In Spiritual terms, Swabhava is called Vasana.
How he carries  these entities along with him, to his next  Birth?
Self, along with mind carries these Vasanas and Sanchiyta karma to ones' next Birth. This is mentioned in a sloka in Purushotthama prapti Yoga, like this

           "Shareeram  yadavapnothii yachchapyuthkramatheeswaraha
           Gruheethvani samyAthi vAyurgandhanivasayaha "

Like a breeze carries the fragrance of  flowers while passing over them, the Vasanas
and  Sanchita karma  are carried away by Ones' Mind along its' Self to the Body of next Birth. The Spiritual vehicle of anybody is rided by Mind like this only.
The Sanchita karma prompts the actions of the Present birth.
So, this accumulated stock of Sanchita karma is the cause of our actions.
Out of Sanchita karma, Papam prompts bad actions, PuNyam prompts  good actions.
This is an inevitable cycle of action and it's' results.
Various thought currents prompting our actions are all generated by the power of Sanchita karma. Then how to diminish the effect of The Sanchita Papam?
Very simple. One has to put deliberate efforts to entertain noble thoughts, virtuous actions. The association of holy people (sathsangathi )and reading holy scriptures curbs the sinful thoughts, preventing one from doing sinful actions. This effort when done persistently reduses the Papam of past actions, increases the account of PuNyam. Bad impulses can be curbed by controlling,& by conditioning the Mind  continuously. Our sins can be destroyed by remembering the Aalmighty always, dedicatedly,; Bhakti towards Lord smashes the Papam, just like  the Fire burns the stack of old hay.
In Aksharabrahma Yoga, Lord Sri Krishna says, The Adyatma which is the cause of  Bhava, in everybody is itself, Sanchita karma. The sloka given below reveals the physical format of Sanchita karma.

"  Aksharabrahma Paramam swabhavo Adhyatma uchyathe
                      BhuthabhAvodbhavakaro visargaha KarmaSanchitaha "

Hence, one has to do any action, considering its' repercussions, considering its' results. Because, fruit of actions will always remain dectating our life, not only in this birth, even in the next birth too. This is the truth, which guides ones' happyness and-sorrow. This is absolutely true,  everyone has to borne this truth in their Mind and act
Accordingly.
