Om" means, the designation of God. In fact," om" itself is God. Any act prescribed by Vedas, either a sacrifice or any austerity or any gift, if done while uttering the word "Om", always begins well and results well. The syllable "om"works as a
Purifier. " Om ithYEkaksharam brahma vyAharaNmamanusmaran "
"Om" sanctifies anything, brings divinity to any action ,by enforcing pious ness to it.
This is the reason why every Mantra is spelled along with this great sacred syllable
"Om".
Tat means "that". Here "Tat" refers to Parabrahman .
Sath. means "Truth". Sath is used to denote the existance of truth and goodness.
The word "sath", used along with any act turns the act to an auspecious one.
When these three Sacred words joined together, form" om tat sath" which means
God is truth. Yes, God is truth, truth is God.

The above slok in Sraddhathraya vibhaga yoga says,
Om tat sath_is considered to be the threefold designation of Parabrahman.
The sacred word ,Sath ,when attached infront of any word, emphasises goodness to that word. SathbhAvana ,sathsangathi, sathbuddhi, sath gati, etc are all composed of an attributed goodness to that particular action. The great sacred utterance,
"Om tat sath" Straightaway addresses God, almighty ,the Parabrahman. This is why
Our ancient scriptures, Vedas, purANas, smruthies and upanishaths , all begin with
"Om tat sath" and end with the same word "Om tat sath."
In Mantrapushpam, in the end it is said,
Om tat brahma, Om tat vayuhu, Om tat Atma, Om tat Satyam, Om tat sarvam, Om tat PurO Namaha.
Spiritual Seekers of Liberation always utter "Om tat sath" before performing any spiritual act, besides Renunciating it's results.
This special sacred word refers to all Gods, either Rama or Krishna, Siva, or Vishnu.....
Om tat sath addresses the Ultimate Truth.
Om tat sath refers to that Supreme Consciousness.
Om tat sath connects to that Supreme Self.
Om tat sath directs to that Supreme bliss.
Om tat sath links to that supreme Atma, called Paramatma.
Om tat sath refers to that Supreme Mind.
Om tat sath, itself is Parabrahman .
Hence, it is very favourable to utter this threefold designation of God, at the beginning and ending of any act. It means ur sacrificing all results of that act to the
Almighty.
Om tat sath
